How To Have The Best Jungle Safari Experience

Going on a jungle safari is one of the best ways of observing animals in their natural habitat. It’s a much better experience than going to a zoo as the latter cages animals and don’t give them the freedom to move around. In a jungle, they are more at home and you will have a fun time watching them grazing around.

However, before you go to a jungle safari, here are some of the things you should keep in mind so that you have the best experience ever.

Pack in Your Binoculars and Camera

There’s no way you can forget to take your binoculars and camera when you are going for a jungle safari. Pack them in your backpack and make sure that the camera’s batteries are charged. Taking a binocular with you will help you spot animals even though they may be a few miles away from your jeep or safari bus.

Wear the Right Kind of Clothes

Pack in a fleece jacket, a pair of cargos, lightweight tees, and khadi shorts or pants when you are going for a jungle safari. Try and wear comfortable clothes that come in neutral colors like olive green or brown. Wearing bright colors might scare animals away or they might attack you out of fear. You can also carry a hat or sunglasses to protect your eyes from the blazing sun.

Take Medication if You Have Allergies

Some people suffer from plant allergies and if you are one among them, please take your medicines before you embark on the safari. If you will be going to a dense jungle, take mosquito repelling gels with you and apply them liberally on the exposed areas of your body. You can also carry a bottle of sunscreen lotion. Apply it on your hands, legs, and face every 3 to 4 hours to avoid sunburn.

Book Your Safari Early

Jungle safaris get booked early and if you don’t want to miss out on it, reserve your tickets as soon as you have planned the holiday. If you plan to stay in a forest camp, you should start your reservations early as usually there are limited number of camps available on a particular day. While making your reservation, ensure that the hotel/camp you will be staying in has a first aid kit and a doctor on call.

These are some of the ways you can make your jungle safari special. Lastly, remember to plan your trip a couple of days in advance so that you can get your hands on cheap airline tickets. This way, you will be able to spend the saved money on your accommodation. Bon Voyage!
